Inward-Turning One Piece Door
Note: these unusual doors do not protrude
beyond the frame when opening
Inward turning type garage doors are
extremely rare but planning authorities occasionally insist this mechanism
is fitted in cases where a garage door opens directly onto a busy
thoroughfare because unlike conventional up & over doors, inward
turning type garage doors don't swing out beyond the frame when opening.
Inward turning doors
normally have a top mounted spring with wire cables supporting the door
at the sides, some examples have both horizontal and vertical
tracks, some have counterbalance weights instead of springs. These doors
require extensive modification to make them suitable for automation, the options
are detailed below: |
